What Is It About Words… (Poetry)

Do you know how loud silence is?
You do it you’ve met loneliness.
In the middle of a crowd, but all you hear is the motion of the clouds,
Afloat on the life raft of your soul,
The prison you wear like a shroud.
Surrounded by thick invisible layers of doubt,
You feel trapped and constrained,
There’s no way out.
But what comes to your ears is a faint song or poetic egress.
The words you could not express, clearly written to your address.
The crack in the void has begun,
A light peeks in and hope has sprung,
What is a word but self expression,
They lack of which can lead to depression.
What a painting some can create, talking about how their soul aches.
Creating a trail of words I can walk along, to understand why they are singing that song.
Spoken by another, but the relation sets your heart on fire,
Hearing the expression or the pressure you’ve been supress’n,
Coming from someone else’s confession.
The reassurance that in our pain we’re not a lone,
That there is community still, a place to call home.
God has a mansion with many rooms, enough rooms for each one of you.
But what is blocking the way?
Your words of unbelief.
Words of faith cannot be spoken from a heart that hasn’t been broken,
Of its pride, that enormous ocean,
That you have been adrift in, it’s a deceptive notion.
Loneliness come from our hearts, not from us being apart.
The deeper we dive into ourself the less light we can see,
Because just like you, the darkness came from inside of me.
In the cell of our soul, is it really walls that keep us in jail?
Or is it fear of the truth that prevents us from setting our sail?
The one good thing about being in darkness, it makes it easier to notice the light, no matter how far out of sight.
The brightest of sources, appears as the smallest of resources,
But what is this distance other than an opportunity to walk into the light?
It doesn’t happen without resistance, resistance to your internal plight.
Jesus is the word of God, the truth made flesh.
God’s love based expression.
How much more of an impression will His word make when truth is the source of the bless’n.
The word of God is a light upon my feet.
It fills my soul with His Spirit.
His light glowing from within, peace and tranquility, I trust in Him.
God’s power spoke creation into existence.
How much more power can the truth speak into you?
Power to break strongholds, to be born a new.
The power over depression and over Satan’s spiritual oppression.
The battle is with principalities and powers of the air.
They fight their battles by instilling despair.
In the right heart words build up and encourage the soul.
In an evil heart they traumatize and control.
Words not heard are missed opportunities to learn.
They go out and cannot return.
They must be caught by the ear, before the learning can be made clear.
Revelation.
When the words cut so deep they take the air our of your lungs.
It like you just got hit, your bell rung.
Weak knees bring you to the floor, exasperated to the core.
It’s the title fight.
And you’ve been fighting your entire life.
The final round as the last bell sounds.
It tolls and this loss will cost you your soul.
With effort and strain you try to regain your standing by getting back on your feet,
Is this the foe that cannot be beat?
No response from your body and the count begins,
Stuck on the mat by the weight of your sins.
The truth was the punch that landed on your chin, you never saw it coming, blinded from within.
Death is ahead as we go into the judges, you push and your strain, but nothing budges.
But before the lights go out a decision can be made.
Your last chance before the gave.
It’s Psalm 30 verse 5 that tells my story,
His word gave me a new heart so to him be the glory.
Weeping may last the entire night,
But joy come with the morning light.
If you let His word enter your heart,
And repent of that dark and most selfish part.
See Jesus bore every pain you could possibly detest,
Even that dreadful emptiness in your chest.
He bore it willingly while nailed to a tree,
So by faith in Him you could finally be set free.
